Your request
We clarify the task, the people involved and the desired outcome.
Provide technology leadership and coordinate development when your business needs strategic guidance.
Give technology decisions an owner
Growing businesses accumulate suppliers, applications and projects. A proposed CRM and a website rebuild may compete for resources without supporting the same goal. An external technology partner reviews these proposals in the context of your operations and available budget.
Work regularly with management
We discuss existing systems, team requirements and planned changes. Reviews cover delivery progress, unresolved technical choices and supplier dependencies. Management receives a clear account of the decision needed, available alternatives and their practical consequences. Agreed consultations may include discussions with delivery teams.
Work that can be included
Assess systems and technology priorities
Coordinate supplier proposals and projects
Review progress and outcomes regularly
Set responsibilities before starting
We agree on consultation scope, meeting frequency and decision ownership. Programming, implementation and infrastructure maintenance are separate items when required. This makes it clear who advises, who delivers and which decisions your team approves.
When the arrangement helps
It suits businesses with recurring technology questions that do not yet require a full-time technology leader. Bring your current projects and the issues holding them up.
Frequently asked questions about the external technology partner
What is an external technology partner?
It is an external technology lead (also called a fractional CTO) who works regularly with company management: assesses the state of systems, sets priorities, coordinates suppliers and projects, but is not a full-time employee. The company gets technology leadership without the cost of a full-time role.
When does a company need such a partner?
When technology decisions have no owner: unfinished projects pile up, suppliers propose solutions nobody evaluates, systems do not talk to each other, or larger growth is planned and a clear technology direction is needed.
How much time is allocated per month?
The scope is agreed according to need – from a few hours per week to several days per month. The usual model: a regular meeting with management, supplier and project coordination between meetings and a monthly status report.
Does the partner write code?
The main role is decisions, planning and coordination. Implementation can be done by your team, existing suppliers or the VaroLab team – this is agreed separately so responsibilities stay clear.
How does the cooperation start?
The first stage is an assessment of systems and technology priorities, after which we present a plan and a proposed working rhythm. Then we agree on responsibilities, scope boundaries and the reporting format.
